People of Jessore saw the fighting of the village fighting cock, Kalapahar, robots and taigas. After many years the visitors were enthralled by the real cockfight at the Jessore Town Hall grounds on Saturday. The cockfight was enjoyable as part of the seven-day commemoration organized by the Jessore Institute on the birth and death anniversaries of Rai Bahadur Jadunath Majumder.

For almost 200 years, their work of making fighting cocks and showing fights has been entertaining the people by showing fights like this. The applause of the audience showed that the appeal of cockfighting has not been lost even today. Thousands of families in Vetkhali raise roosters for fighting. They are entertaining all over the country.

Thanks Jessore Institute for that, and more excited to see the game, it's our rural tradition. I will tell the organizers to organize it every year. I have never seen such a real cock fight in my life, now I am happy to see it live, I have to bring back some sport in the past, then we can know about our roots. It is very good for us, I wish that every year around the commemoration of Rai Bahadur there is such a lovely event."
5. Local resident: "These games are not seen anymore, we used to tie a rope to the legs of the rooster when we were children, today I saw with my own eyes, I was very happy, and I hope that the organizing committee will give more fun in the future."
