A glamorous model and motorbike racer was killed instantly after hitting a parked truck on her way home from work.

Lukhana Chanpirom, 28, had just finished working as a hostess at a restaurant event when she rode her Honda CBR 650F home in the early hours of the morning.

However, the pretty motorcycle fan - who raced semi-professionally while working as a model - ploughed into the back of the 22-wheel truck in Nakhon Ratchasima, northeast Thailand, at 2am on November 1.

The shocked lorry driver thought a car had crashed into the back of his construction materials lorry and climbed from the carriage to check the damage.

Lukhana was found sprawled on the ground with her legs twisted. She was wearing a helmet but had suffered severe wounds across her shoulders.

Paramedics arrived but Lukhana was pronounced dead at the scene as police informed her devastated relatives.

Friends and family were today paying tribute to Lukhana on social media.

Noi Madee said: 'Go be an angel in heaven. I'm so sorry for your family.'

Chakrit added: 'You lived for big bikes. They were your passion and your love. I'm so sorry that they also killed you.'

The driver, who has not been named, said: 'I parked my truck on the side of the road to take a nap, but then suddenly I heard a loud noise from behind.

'I went down to take a look and saw the woman lying on the ground.'

Police who arrived at the scene to start the investigation into the crash said that Lukhana did not see the parked truck.

Police captain Wuttisan Pakaphonmongkol said: 'An autopsy report will find the cause of death, which we know already is from the impact with the truck. However, the victim's blood will also be tested for drugs and alcohol to establish if contributed to the crash.

'The truck was parked in a suitable area but did not have any lights on. It's engine was turned off but the victim did not see the vehicle.'

Lukhana worked as a model and event hostess while also taking part in motorbike races on superbikes across Thailand.
