Heavy overnight rain caused flash floods in low-lying areas in Thailand.

Dozens of home were flooded after the Nan-Soong waterfall overflowed in the Kongra district of Phatthalung province on November 1.

Footage shows the deluge swamping homes and orchards on Tuesday morning.

Authorities have warned mountainside residents to expect more flash floods and mudslides as rain continues to fall.

The local Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation also advised villagers to monitor updates on the flooding situation.

An evacuation centre and community kitchen has been set up to assist flood victims waiting for the water to subside.

Thailand has been experiencing heavy floods for several weeks.

This year, meteorologists have blamed climate change for the sustained heavy rain, which has been hitting the Thai capital and provinces around the country.

Local media reported that the country has this year seen 'an unusually sustained and persistent rainy season'.
