The vigilance of a platform guard was on show as she saved the life of a female passenger, who fell while boarding a train in northern India's Uttar Pradesh.

The incident happened at platform number one of the Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi railway station on October 31.

Visuals showed the female passenger, later identified as an 80-year-old named Shanti Devi, slipping and falling while boarding the moving train. She could have fallen into the gap between the train and the platform but female guard Nutan jumped to the rescue and pulled her to safety.

Nutan was with assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Vishram when this incident happened. The latter also helped the woman on her feet. Devi was travelling with her nephew at the time of this incident.
