This is the terrifying moment an aggressive zoo lion chased a tourist's car inside a safari park in Thailand.

The creature was hiding under trees when the sedan passed by in Kanchanaburi province on October 27.

It approached the vehicle as the holidaymakers slowly drove across the dirt path to have a better look at the animal.

However, the lion appeared annoyed at the prying tourists and curiously climbed up the car.

Footage shows the creature tailing behind as the scared tourists sped away.

Tourist Puad Attaphol Phetsit said: ‘We were watching the lions and drove across as silent as we could but it was running after us.'

Puad added they were one of the first cars to enter the open zoo that day.

He said: ‘There were not many cars that day. We were only six or seven and we were one of the first to pass by.'

However, Puad said the lion seemed unhappy to see them enter its home.

He said: ‘It didn't like tourists. It was not interested.'

Despite the unusual zoo experience, the group of friends were unhurt.

Puad said: ‘My car was also not scratched because I had it covered in expensive coat at a garage.'
