An aspiring professional footballer has certainly got all the skills and is determined to make it to the top - despite being 29. Agasi Karapetyan has launched a social media campaign showing his rigorous training regime with clips of him slotting balls into the back of the net. Inspired by David Beckham, Agasi says watching him play with Manchester United in their heyday, was one of the single-most encouraging things for him. And Agasi looks to have what it takes - equally comfortable scoring with both his left and right boot. Entrepreneur Agasi, from Los Angeles, CA, USA, said: "I have played football since I was five years old and I fell in love with the game immediately. "My first recollection of watching football was David Beckham and Man United. "Even at that age, I was amazed at how he can place the ball absolutely anywhere that he wants with his feet, whether it's a pass to a teammate or a shot on goal. "I mimicked him ever since, down to his 90-degree free-kick stance. I became obsessed with the game and have been extremely detail oriented." As well as Becks, Agasi cites Wayne Rooney and Kobe Bryant as heroes and has tried to imitate the skills and passion of both athletes. But despite coming across criticism online from many saying he is too old to pursue a career in football, Agasi has knuckled down with an intense training regime that sees him waking up at 4:30 am every morning. The intense regime has come off the back of his parents battling cancer and being in ill health during the Covid pandemic, but now they're in a better place, he can focus on his lifelong dream of becoming a soccer star. Agasi added: "It is the singular thing that I have so much passion for that I can do repeatedly and repeatedly despite any setbacks and challenges. "I love the game so much that training, and getting better is fun. It doesn't seem like work at all." He said that his dream is to "be the best player in the world" and understands how difficult his journey to soccer stardom, but confronts the task with vigour.
