Plane smashes into radio antenna while doing stunts at airshow in Argentina
A plane smashed into a radio antenna while doing stunts during an airshow in Argentina.
The DHC-1 Chipmunk aircraft struck the metal structure in the middle of the festival in Bragado City, Buenos Aires, on November 5 afternoon.
Footage shows the plane flying low before its right wing hit the antenna, prompting the pilot to make an emergency landing. A portion of the antenna also broke and fell to the ground.
Local media reported he emerged uninjured, but four spectators were wounded when they were hit by debris from the crash. Two of them were treated at the scene, while two others were taken to a hospital.
Photos also show that the wing was severely damaged and was coming loose from the root.
In a statement, the Transportation Safety Board of Argentina's Ministry of Transport said it will be investigating the accident.
