Police seize illegal liquor worth $63,563 from container in central India
Police seized foreign liquor worth Rs 52,00,000 (USD 63,563.976) from a container in central India's Madhya Pradesh.
The incident happened in front of the Hotel Prateek Dhaba in Mhow-Neemuch road, Dhar district on November 7.
Visuals showed a person cutting open an inside portion of the container with a cutting machine. According to a report, the container was stopped for a check and it was found to be having only rice and animal feed. After they were removed, the container was found to have different chambers, which were cut open to reveal boxes of foreign liquor.
A total of 275 boxes were found out of which, 250 were MD whiskey, liquor while 25 contained Tuborg beer. In all, liquor worth Rs 52,00,000 (USD 63,563.976) was seized and the police also arrested one person.
This was part of the Drug De-Addiction campaign by the Excise Department in Dhar district.
