This is the dramatic moment a hero German Shepherd saved a toddler from being attacked by a bull.

One-year-old Sky Kalawi was playing with his family and pet pooch Snow before wandering down the road outside the home in Phetchaburi province, Thailand, on October 5.

The youngster ambled over to the cattle grazing on a patch of grass and looked at them curiously. The aggressive bull lowered its head and charged at the boy.

But before the cow could hit the child with its horns, the protective female dog sensed the danger and sprung into action bounding towards the animals with incredible speed.

CCTV footage shows how the bovine immediately noticed the dog's advances and backed away.

Sky's father Pasakorn Saiphat, 25, took his son in his arms.

He said: "I always take my children out of the house to play in the afternoon. We always walk around the road nearby where it's quieter.
But on that day, the two cows were eating grass on the field. It happened really fast. I was about to pick up my child when one of the cows became angry and almost seriously hurt him".

Pasakorn believes that loyal dog Snow was watching the boy while he wandered away and sensed the danger before anyone else.

The dog's reaction caused the cow to stop and back away as the brave pet dog sprinted across the field to chase them away.

The cows fled about 30ft from their grazing spot, terrified of the dog. The pooch continued barking at them until Pasakorn called for her to return.

Relieved father Pasakorn thanked the German Shepherd for saving their child - and bought her a big bowl of her favourite meat.

Pasakorn added: "It all happened in less than a minute. If it weren't for our beloved dog, my son would have been seriously hurt or something worse could have happened. We were all shocked and relieved at the same time. I am very grateful to my dog".
