Massive 10ft-long python holds up cars as it slithers across road in Thailand
This is the moment a large 10ft-long python held up cars as it slithered across a road in Thailand.
The serpent emerged from the grassy vacant lot and made its away to the other side of the dirt path in Pathum Thani province on November 8.
However, the creature delayed motorists as it slowly crawled on the ground to reach its destination.
Footage shows the snake slowly heading to the tall grass as drivers stopped to let it pass.
Driver Ascipthaw Witchapas said: ‘I saw the snake at an alley near Thammasat University. It was large but didn't appear aggressive.'
Ascipthaw added he waited and let the creature leave on its own because he was unsure how to handle wild animals.
He said: ‘I wasn't in a hurry to I let it move on its way. I could wait but I don't know what to do with a snake up close.'
The snake eventually disappeared among the tall grasses and sugar canes planted on the vacant lot next to the road.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
