This is the heartwarming moment a husband used a circular saw to save a bird trapped in a metal pillar.

The family heard the shivering sparrow crying from inside the post outside their house in Sakon Nakhon province, northeast Thailand on November 6.

Boonlert Boonyong grabbed one of his tools and sliced through the iron to create an opening to reach the tiny creature, which was cowering at the bottom of the shaft.,

Wife Suparaya, 30, watched as the little sparrow was brought out to safety. They gave it a drink of water before releasing the bird into nature.

Suparaya said she believes the bird had fallen into the hole and could not find its way out. They are now covering the opening at the top of the post to prevent it happening again to other birds.
