The second batch of winter migratory birds of the year arrives near River Hewa, the Hongze Lake Wetland National Nature Reserve, in Suqian, Jiangsu province, China, on Nov 6, 2022. Most of these winter migratory birds are coot chickens, and some mallard ducks, egrets and so on. They cruise, forage, or chase. Hongze Lake Wetland National Nature Reserve is the largest freshwater wetland in East China. In recent years, with the gradual improvement of the local ecological environment, every year there are a large number of migratory birds stop here, habitat, breeding and wintering, compared with the 2013 survey data, the hongze lake wetland habitat continuity was significantly enhanced, the ecosystem of the original true and stability are improved, zooplankton and benthic increased by 66% and 62% respectively, The number of bird species increased from 147 to 226, among which the number of bird species under first class state protection doubled and that under second class state protection nearly tripled.
