Devotees hair catches fire while whispering prayers with floating lantern
This is the moment a young devotee's hair caught fire while whispering prayers to a floating lantern.
The youngster was celebrating the Buddhist Loy Krathong festival with his friends when the incident happened in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 8.
While making a wish on the lotus-shaped lantern with a candle, the spark ignited the tip of his hair strands.
Footage shows the fire touching his head before he quickly patted it to kill the flames.
His friend Af Thanakorn said: ‘He was so serious about making his wish and closed his eyes. He didn't realise that the candle touched his head.'
The fire was quickly put out, and the youngster was not hurt despite having a few locks of hair singed.
