A woman has gone viral on TikTok sharing the unusual method she uses to “stay young forever” – using sticky tape on her face to achieve ‘Botox-like’ results.

Valerie, 25, from Canada, shared a video of her makeup-free face with tapes covering her forehead, eyebrows, nose and smile lines, which went viral with 2.4 million views and 266,000 likes.

She says: “If you think I look crazy it’s because I am crazy. I have been taping my face for a while now and it really works, and I love it.

“I want to show you how to do it, why I do it, and where – and the results.

“So I taped my face last night. The reason I started doing this was because of my eyebrow – I have very asymmetrical eyebrows…and it drives me insane.”

She explains how she started taping her brow upwards to lift it, before securing another piece of tape horizontally across her forehead – which she says helps avoid wrinkles created from “scrunching” her face when she sleeps.

While Valerie said she used to have a fine line across her forehead, since using the taping method she has no wrinkles in that area.

She then started incorporating tapes around her mouth to counteract her “very visible” smile lines, which she doesn’t want to get “too harsh”.

Finally, she tapes her nose to lift the tip up which she says, despite having a nose job at 17, reduces puffiness.

Valerie uses a sticky skin tape which is typically used for bandages.

In the morning, she removes the tapes – which she demonstrates in the TikTok.

After removing the mouth tapes, she says: “Usually my smile lines are so visible but you can’t even see them now.

“And I wake up with my nose looking really thin, which I love.”

She ends the clip saying: “Love it, it really works guys.”

She captioned the popular post: “Botox? We don’t know her” and says she tapes her face to “stay young forever”.

The TikTok garnered thousands of comments from viewers – including Julia Fox, who said: “Omggg I thought I was the only person that did this.” [sic]

Another fan said: “I am definitely doing this!! I got the same thing with the eyebrows.”

“Not all heroes wear capes,” another person agreed.

Someone else commented: “You are telling me that i can fix my assimetrical eye/eyebrow with a freaking piece of tape?” [sic]

“Not me about to look like a mummy tonight,” joked another viewer.

Another user shared: “This is sooooo true, my grandmother has been doing this her whole life, she’s almost 80 and her face is like baby smooth.” [sic]

While some users were fans of the DIY method, others criticised the desire to stay youthful – begging her to “free” herself.

One person said: “Nothing can stop ageing, it’s a natural process, all these things may just reduce the appearance of it.”

“Girl free yourself. You’re beautiful,” another user commented.

Someone else added: “We will never be young for ever and its okay to grow old its not a bad thing.”

“U do understand that this is a temporary fix right?” said another critic. [sic]

Someone else joked: “I will just get Botox in the future im too lazy for this.”
