HelloFresh accused by PETA of using coconut milk obtained from monkey labor
HelloFresh is under fire after a Peta investigation uncovered the use of slave monkeys to acquire coconut milk at one of their suppliers.
Aroy-D is among companies known to use slave monkeys to obtain coconut milk. A months long investigation by PETA Asia found that "chained monkeys are forced to spend long hours climbing tall trees and picking heavy coconuts."
Peta is urging HelloFresh to stop sourcing its coconut milk from Thailand as this practice is common among several suppliers there. The group claims that HelloFresh has known for years about the abuse of monkeys in Thailand where they source their coconut milk.
