Police officers rescued a drowning dog from a river in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on November 12.

One officer named Yash Pal Singh on a large piece of rubber floated toward the dog and managed to pull it out of the Sabarmati Riverfront.

He then passed the pooch to officers standing upon the riverbank.

He said: "I immediately rushed there and took a rubber raft along. I managed to save the dog."

The stray canine was given immediate treatment before being released onto the streets.
