An elderly man rescued a 6-year-old boy hanging from the third-floor window of a residential building in central China.

Video filmed in the city of Huanggang in Hubei Province on November 8 shows a boy dangling from the window as his head got trapped in between the security bars. His mother Ms Huang grabbed his hands to hold him up.

In another clip, a 71-year-old man named Chen Renzhang walked along the canopies and climbed into the boy's flat through a small window on the side of the security bars. He then helped Huang to hold the boy.

According to reports, the boy broke the pen when painting and ran away. Huang thought her son went to get a new pen but she then heard him crying in less than two minutes.

Huang saw her son dangling out of the window with his neck trapped in the security bars and grabbed his hands to keep him breathing.

After firefighters arrived, they cut the security bars to free the boy and pulled him back into the flat.

当天早上9时许，做完核酸回家的陈仁章老人听到一阵哭闹声，他抬头一看，居民楼3楼一名男童头部被卡在10余厘米宽的防盗窗外，四肢悬空，孩子母亲急得大声呼救。危急时刻，陈仁章老人委托邻居们拨打119求救电话，自己则从楼梯间窗口爬出，抓住各层护栏，徒手爬上3楼，通过防盗网窗户进入室内和男童母亲一起拉住男童，等待消防员救援。
几分钟后，消防员赶到现场，迅速对防盗窗进行切割，成功将被困男童救出。

陈先生表示，自己曾经做过两次心脏搭桥手术，“当时没顾上考虑身体，就想着要先救孩子。”

小男孩的母亲黄女士介绍，“当时我和孩子在客厅里画画，然后他把画笔弄坏了就跑回房间了。我以为他回去拿新画笔，结果不到两分钟，我就在客厅听到了他的哭声。”“当我跑过来的时候，他的脖子卡在了防护窗上面，身体已经掉到外面去了。”黄女士说，因为担心孩子窒息，她冲过去拉住孩子的手，然后开始呼救。周围邻居赶到，想进屋帮忙，但因为黄女士在拉孩子，一时没办法开门，只能等待119前来。“后面我已经没有力气了，真的特别慌。孩子也在哭，大脚趾因为一直想往上蹬磨得都是血。”黄女士表示，此时她隐约看到一个人顺着楼体外的护栏爬上来。待楼下的人慢慢靠近，黄女士才发现，正是住在该楼的“陈爹爹”。“我没想到他会顺着防盗窗爬上来救人，真的太惊险了。”黄女士说，就在自己坚持不住的时候，陈先生利用空调室外机的缝隙翻到屋子里，帮她拉住孩子之后，黄女士赶紧去给帮忙的邻居们开门。
