Delightful Willie Wagtails (Rhipidura leucophrys) are one of Australia’s favourite birds, always on the move, chattering and wagging their tails from side-to-side on landing. They are confiding and plucky, often approaching people and animals closely for food or to collect fur for their nests. A pair of Willie Wagtails successfully raised three chicks that had left their nest to perch on a fallen tree, waiting for their parents to bring them food. This video shows this happening, with the chicks gaping to show the yellow lining of their beaks and begging by vibrating their wings.
