This creepy hotel room has a bizarre statue of a giant cobra towering over the bed.

Guest Pruit Phonyiam checked into the room following a night out with friends in Maha Sarakham province, northern Thailand, on November 13.

He had been drinking so collapsed straight onto the bed without bothering to turn on the lights.

Pruit was shocked when he woke in the morning and opened his eyes to see the giant serpent protruding from the bed's headrest.

There were also murals on the wall of two naked nymphs - making Pruit wander whether he was still in a bizarre beer-induced dream.

Pruit said: 'We were too drunk to drive back so my friends and I booked a room nearby. We were surprised when we woke up and saw the design. It was a little bit strange.'

The cobra is based on the Buddhist serpent god Naga.
