A bizarre video has recently emerged from China of a villager transferring his villa to give way to the construction of a public road.

In the video, filmed in Fujian Province in July, the construction work is ongoing with workers digging under the house and equipment placed around the site. The inside can also be seen fitted for the shifting process.

According to local media, the location of the villa was included in a government plan to reform local transports and build a state road. The owner, Mr Xie wanted to keep the 1.3 million RMB (around £132,000) structure and decided to move the house out of the planned area instead of demolishing it.

The entire movement was reported to cost 700,000 RMB (around £71,000) and last for one month and a half. The family continued to live in the house as usual during the working period.
