Today (November 19) people protested outside the Qatar embassy at 1 South Audley Street in Mayfair, London, against the country's treatment of the LGBTQ+ community. Homosexuality is illegal in Qatar and death sentences can be enforced for same-sex relationships.

LGBT+ rights campaigners including Peter Tatchell, women's and migrant rights supporters assembled outside the Qatari embassy in Mayfair, London (November 19) ahead of the World Cup opening game tomorrow.

The crowd chanted: 'Shame on Qatar' and 'Shame on David Beckham' - the latter for taking sponsorship deals, as protesters display concern over human rights and migrant workers' abuses and that the Middle Eastern state should have not been awarded the games.
