An excitable puppy chased the football around the television screen while it watched the opening match of the World Cup.

Deborah Wilding was watching the Qatar versus Ecuador match on November 20 when her Sprocker Daisy suddenly took an interest in the action.

Hilarious footage shows the five-month-old pooch stood on her back legs closely following the path of the football with her nose as it was passed between the players.

Daisy carried on chasing the ball for the whole 90 minutes, even looking for it on the wall whenever it went off screen.

Deborah, from Telford, Shrops, said: “We were all crying with laughter. She’s never been interested in football before, but she followed the ball for the whole match.

“She’s such a character this isn’t surprising, but she’s normally far more interested in musicals.

“Daisy kept jumping from the sofa to the arm of a chair to jumping back to the TV. She never took her eyes off the screen though.

“Whenever the ball went off screen she was looking for it behind the tv, on the wall, everywhere.”
