A concussed mother miraculously survived a car crash after plunging down a creek then wandering through the forest for two days while lost in a daze.

Pitchsinee Phupanwiwat, 50, was driving her black Honda sedan on the way to her brother's house when it spun out of control in Lampang province, northern Thailand, on November 19 evening.

Her car skidded off the dirt road and fell down the muddy creek with waist-deep water.

The lucky mother-of-two survived the smash and crawled out of the vehicle but she was disoriented and was lost in the middle of the forest until she was found on November 21.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Satien Phanthariyasathien said: ‘We were informed by the villagers that there was a black Honda car by the Mae Pa creek. We went to the area but there was no driver.'

Traces of collision were found on the electric post on the side of the creek. They also followed traces around the water but officers did not find the driver.

The sedan was lifted off the creek as a search party roamed the vicinity for the driver but to no avail.

Pitchsinee's daughter Kornkamol Phetrung, 24, went to the police to report her mother missing. She said the last time they talked to her was about 11pm on the night of the crash.

She said: 'She was on her way to Bangkok to do business with my uncle. The last phone call she answered was my uncle's around 11 pm on November 19.'

Officers confirmed Kornkamol was the daughter of the sedan's driver. They found the mother's phone still inside the car.

However, two days later on November 21, resilient mum Pitchsinee showed up in the district forestry office. She was reportedly starving and crying 'in a state of shock'.

Forestry office worker Supaporn Boonjubutr, 42, said: ‘She was in a state of shock. She was tired and hungry. I don't know how she got here from where she crashed.

'She suffered some concussion and was still disorientated. She had been walking through the forest for two days and calling for help.'

The distance that the woman had reached from the crash site to the office was 10 miles away.

She also had no serious injuries, although she was still taken to the hospital for a check-up.
