An urban explorer has revealed her latest shocking discovery – an abandoned animal testing facility, where she found horrifying old specimens including monkey brains, and the disused autopsy theatre.

Gabby, 25, who is well known online for exploring disused buildings, visited the US facility with fellow explorer and boyfriend Sonny, 26.

She found out about the hidden location after research online and said it was “fascinating” to look around the facility.

Filming a video for her YouTube channel, UrbexMuse, Gabby explores the “frozen in time” building – where she found the electricity still running with computers left behind and still working.

Inside the almost completely “untouched” building, Gabby and Sonny found multiple labs still stocked with instruments, rooms with cages in and an autopsy theatre.

“We first stumbled across multiple labs still fully stocked with beakers and test tubes as well as a chalkboard which stated ‘please avoid spilling HIV blood onto outlets, it is hard to clean off completely’,” Gabby told NeedToKnow.online.

“As we continued through the building, we found the area where many of the animals for animal testing were kept, including multiple cages with water bowls and small beds.

“Each cage had a deeply stained floor indicating that they were not cleaned frequently and that the animals may have been left in their own filth.

“We then found the autopsy theatre where surgeries and procedures would be observed by students as well as three additional metal autopsy tables.

“Finally, on the shelf in one of the lab spaces we found specimens – specifically multiple monkey brains – still left in a jar full of formaldehyde.

“Many people know the horrors behind animal testing but it felt especially strange to be getting an inside look at what was happening here.

“It felt haunting seeing and envisioning all the animals, including dogs, cats, pigs, mice and more, being kept in this environment.”

Her YouTube video racked up more than 19,000 views, and left her followers equally intrigued by the find.

One person commented: “How did you get access to a place so well preserved with even electricity still running? It's almost like its been frozen in time since it was abandoned and you're the first to ever visit it.. how is that even possible? So intriguing!”

“This is so cool! It’s in perfect condition and I think people should keep this like it is. This is now one of my favorite abandoned places. I believe that someone should do a thorough investigation here and go through all the documents. There’s probably a lot of things that scientists could use!” another user said.

Someone else added: “Super fascinating... but makes me so disgusted people are out there doing this, and letting it rot like it was all for nothing.”

“Look at those old computers!! It's like a time capsule,” another user commented.

Another person said: “Yeahhh that place is for sure haunted.” [sic]

“Poor monkeys,” added someone else.
