500 People Barsarnas Team of the Republic of Indonesia Sent to Search for Earthquake Victims in Cianjur
The victims of the earthquake that rocked Cianjur, West Java, were quite significant. Based on data from BPBD Cianjur Regency on November 23, 2022 at 16.00 WIB,
268 people have died, of which 122 have been identified
. While the victim in the search as many as 151 people. As many as 1,083 people were injured and 58,362 people were forced to evacuate.
Meanwhile, material losses were recorded at 22,198 units, with 6,570 heavily damaged, 2,071 units moderately damaged and 12,641 lightly damaged. The impact of the earthquake hit 12 sub-districts, namely Cianjur, Karang Tengah, Warung Kondang, Cugenang, Cilaku, Cibeber, Sukaresmi, Bojong Picung, Cikalong Kulon, Sukaluyu, Pacet and Gekbrong sub-districts.
“The obstacles we face include the spread or reach of the affected area which is quite wide. In addition, victim data can change at any time. However, the SAR team from Basarnas together with SAR Potential continues to carry out search efforts for the victims who have not been found," said Head of the National Army Marshal's Headquarters, Henri Alfiandi, through the Head of the Public Relations and General Affairs Bureau, S. Riyadi.
The SAR team in the SAR operation is divided into 6 sectors, namely Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, and Foxtrot teams. The SAR team consists of Basarnas, TNI, Polri, and other SAR potentials.
As previously reported, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 that rocked Cianjur Regency, West Java, Monday (21/11/2022) afternoon at 13.21 WIB. Earthquake from a depth of 10 kilometers at coordinates 6.84 South Latitude, 107.05 East Longitude or southwest of Cianjur Regency.
