£6.5 Million proposal submitted by The National Stone Centre (NSC) which recently merged with the Institute of Quarrying (IQ) to develop 40-acre site in Wirksworth, Derbyshire.
Plans submitted to Derbyshire Dales District Council include a new 100 seat cafe, 4 classrooms, museum, exhibition space, shop, playground and piazza.
The 40-acre Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) containing 6 former limestone quarries has also reasently been opened up to rock climbers.
