A loyal pet dog was seen chasing his owners who were leaving on a motorcycle.

Footage shows the brown pooch tailing behind a rider and a female pillion believed to be the dog's family in Quezon City, the Philippines on November 3.

Onlooker Hannah Ariola said the dog didn't stop running after the vehicle until they reached the end of the highway.

She said: ‘The dog really wanted to catch up to them but they didn't seem to notice the dog.

‘We were worried that the dog could be hurt or cause an accident. We tried calling their attention but it was a busy highway.'

Hanna added the motorcycle turned to a street and disappeared at an alley with the dog still behind them.

She said: ‘It felt so bad watching the dog. Commonwealth Highway is a long road, the dog must be tired after all that running.'
