A clever Thai man with amputated hands used homemade 'prostheses' made of plastic cups and utensils to eat rice.

Video shows Khun Auy, 48, eating a plate of fried rice on his own in Chanthaburi province, Thailand on October 9.

He fitted his arms with plastic containers to which a spoon and fork were attached, allowing him to scoop up the grains more easily.

Khun Auy's neighbour Yodaor Tasang said: 'Khun lost his hands while doing a home renovation by himself. His hands were burnt after an electric shock earlier this year.

'He has found ways to carry on and do everyday tasks. He is inspirational.'
