Thailand's Northern Border with Myanmar remains closed due to Burma security concerns
Mae Sai is the northern -most town in Thailand, bordering with Myanmar's town of Tachileik over a bridge on the Sai River. The border has been closed for most of the last two years because of Covid or security concerns.
The bridge is a major trade route and its closure is causing hardship to residents on both sides, as well as affecting tourism.
