Over 1,000 protesters took to the streets of Berlin on Saturday, November 26th, to call on the German government to lift their ban on the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which the European Union has designated as a terrorist organisation and whose activities have been banned in Germany since 1993.

Protesters can be seen waving various flags of the Kurdish community, singing songs, and chanting slogans, such as calling Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan a terrorist and calling for the removal of the ban on the PKK.

The demonstration comes as Kurds in Syria face renewed military strikes from Turkey, and ongoing unrest in Iran.
