A hearing-impaired toddler in southern China burst out crying after hearing her mother's voice for the first time.

The video filmed by the toddler’s dad, Mr Wang, shows after the baby was fitted with a cochlear implant and the doctor began to make some small noises and the baby started to cry.

It’s understood from Wang that his baby daughter was born in 2021 and she could not hear in both ears, so she had to take cochlear implant surgery. After a four-hour operation, eleven months after her birth, she finally heard the sounds of the world.

The video was filmed on November 10 in Lianyungang, Jiangsu province.
