Public is divided over look of new Christmas tree in London's Trafalgar Square

This year’s Christmas tree arrived at Trafalgar Square today (November 28). A gift from Norway, it is 68ft tall and will be displayed until January 6.

Norway has been donating a tree to Britain every year since 1947 to thank it for its support during World War II.

Again this year, the tree has sparked waves of comments on social media. People complain about the lack of branches and its fragile look, as happened in 2019. Back then, the public described the gift as "anaemic" and "droopy".

However, the 2022 Christmas tree has also received positive comments online, with many underlying Norway's nice gestures and the fact that decorations will make it look spectacular.
