Thai weavers showed off beautiful creations during the country's International Silk Festival.

Locals from 26 districts in the Isan region of Khon Kaen province decorated old wooden houses with beautiful cloth as part of the event on November 24.

The exhibition runs until December 10 in front of the municipal hall with cultural performances featuring locally-woven silk.

Provincial governor Kraisorn Kongchalad said: ‘We want to uphold the Isan culture with our even. Tourists can come and experience the local art and culture.

‘We want to highlight the way of life and beauty of the traditions of the Isan people.'

Aside from the silk products, locals and tourists could also enjoy traditional food available to stalls and booths.
