Kirti Dhull of Kaithal won the silver medal in the World Youth Women's Boxing held in Spain from November 13 to 26. Kirti has brought laurels to her district Kaithal as well as Haryana state by winning silver medal in 81kg plus weight category. Kirti had defeated Kazakhstan's boxer in the semi-final and before that, Kirti had performed brilliantly by defeating Romanian and Sabria boxers.In the final, Keerthi lost 3 - 2 to Ireland's player in a hard-fought match and won the silver medal. People of Kaithal district and sports lovers are very happy after Kirti won silver medal in World Youth Women's Boxing. People said that this victory of Kirti will inspire many budding boxers of the state to move forward and they wished Kirti all the best for moving forward in the boxing game.Kirti Dhull had won the gold medal in the International Boxing Competition held in Sabria in September. On reaching Kaithal after winning silver medal in World Youth Women's Boxing, Keerti was warmly welcomed by the people and sports lovers of Kaithal. Khel Kirti of Kaithal first gave the silver medal won by her to her chief coach Rajinder Singh. Renowned boxing coach Rajinder Singh blessed Keerti and garlanded her with a silver medal and flowers.District Sports Officer Ram Niwas, boxing coach Gurmeet Singh, Vikram Dhul, Kirti's father Naresh Dhul and other people and sports lovers present on the occasion showered Kirti with flowers. Sports lovers honored Kirti by presenting a memento. After this, Kirti and her coach stood in an open jeep and a procession was taken out in the city, the district was welcomed by the people of the city and songs were played on DJ on the spectacular performance of the players. Due to which the players of Haryana are making the name of the state shine all over the world.
Keerti's father Naresh Dhul, who is a Colonel in the Army and is currently posted at Hisar Cantt, said that his daughter has achieved a good feat by winning the silver medal in the World Youth Women's Boxing .Kirti's coach Vikram Dhull said that the trend of youth towards sports is increasing continuously, the main reason for which is the meaningful efforts made by the Haryana government to promote sports.
