A wild deer raided a family's home before it was caught on a neighbourhood in India.

The Sambar wandered off the woods and into a village before entering a property in Uttar Pradesh on November 28.

It walked into the residents in the kitchen who were then eating lunch and fled out of panic to call rescuers for help.

Footage shows the deer taking over the kitchen. It ran away when authorities arrived to evacuate it before it was caught outside the street.

Onlooker Ajay Verma said: ‘A family was eating at that time. The strange creature then entered their house.

‘They started shouting and after hearing the screams, passersby and drivers stopped by to help. They found out it was a Sambar deer.'

Officers from the Forestry department went to the area and chased after the deer.

Jay said it was later caught and taken to the Kailash Prakash Stadium to stay in the meantime until it was released back to its home.

He said: 'People wanted to see the deer. There was a huge crowd. The officers took it to a stadium to stay until it would be released.'
