Baffled bear attacks inflatable Christmas reindeer
A baffled bear has been filmed having a fight with an inflatable Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
In the CCTV footage, the animal is seen swiping the Christmas decoration to the ground in the garden.
The animal presses its paw down on the inflatable reindeer and recoils when it suddenly springs up in its face.
The bear then cuffs Rudolph around the head in response before attempting to take a bite from its thigh.
The confused bear drags the inflatable away, but it snags on other festive decorations.
The animal gives up and promptly leaves the garden.
It was captured on Dave Lester’s Ring doorbell camera in Zephyr Cove, Nevada, USA on 26 November.
He said: “Sad news, woke up this morning to Rudolph lying on the ground unresponsive. No amount of CPR or duct tape could revive him.
Upon reviewing my Ring cam video, it appears that a hungry bear was not in the Christmas spirit.”
Dave added: “RIP Rudolph. He was only two years old.”
He also shared images of the "crime scene" the following morning. Fortunately, Dave’s other Christmas decorations were untouched by the furry intruder.
He said a sloth of bears is known to frequent the immediate area and is usually sighted at least once a week.
Local Jill Manka said: “Poor Rudolph!”
Tracy Erwin added: “Sorry but that is too funny.”
“Poor innocent dear,” Cathi Consolo’ said.
