The Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River froze due to continuous cold air in northern China.

Video filmed on November 30 shows a 15-kilometre-long section of the Yellow River freezing into ice at Sanhu Estuary.

The date that the Yellow River began to freeze this year was three days earlier than usual.

According to National Geographic, the Yellow River is the second largest river in the country and one of the longest river systems in the world.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
