A pickup truck overloaded with hay was seen trundling along a highway holding up cars in Thailand.

The vehicle was loaded with bales of hay nearly twice its height while driving along a road in Nakhon Ratchasima province on December 4.

As the truck approached a junction, the stacks leaned dangerously to one side.

An onlooker said: 'It looked like the driver did not secure the bales on his cargo bed properly. There was no net or cloth cover to ensure safety, so the pickup started to tilt with the load. It looked quite dangerous.'

Contractors are usually hired to compress hay bales and transport them after Thailand's harvest season. These are used to feed cattle during the dry season or scattered as ground cover to keep the soil moist.
