This is the moment a pet cat cornered a terrified mouse in his owner's house like a real-life Tom and Jerry.

The ginger feline was playing in the living room when he noticed the tiny rodent scurrying across the floor in Bangkok, Thailand on October 29.

It then chased the creature to the staircase. Footage shows the cat appearing to bully the rodent on the wooden steps before the pet owner saw what it is doing.

The pet owner said: ‘My cat and the mouse are like Tom and Jerry. I heard them chasing each other around. When the loud sounds stopped, I saw my cat had already cornered the mouse.'

The terrified mouse stood, barely moving on the corner of the stairs, as the cat guarded the area.

The amused pet owner added: ‘I had to stop my cat from bullying the mouse. It was so scared.'

In the end, the pet owner took the cat away and let the mouse out of their home.

He said: ‘I freed the mouse. It's a smart creature so I know it would not return to my home with my pet cat around.'
