The Office of Ted Cruz said that the US senator's daughter is ok and asked for privacy after Houston police and firefighters were called to his home yesterday (December 6).

According to the Houston Police Department, paramedics and police went to the senator's home in Houston's River Oaks neighborhood just before 8 pm after reports that a 14-year-old teenager had self-inflicted stab wounds.

Representatives for the Senator issued a statement to the media stating "This is a family matter and thankfully their daughter is okay"

According to the Houston Police Department, paramedics and police were called to Senator Ted Cruz's home located in Houston's River Oaks neighborhood just before 8 p.m. A 14-year-old teenager reportedly had self-inflicted stab wounds on their arms and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Representatives for the Senator issued a statement to the media stating "This is a family matter and thankfully their daughter is okay".
