A wild parrot tucked into a snack left on a balcony in Australia.

The fluffy Sulphur-crested cockatoo found the paper cup with cereals on a resident's chair in Sydney on December 6.

It then munched on the cornflakes until the house owner woke up from the unusual pecking sounds and saw the bird.

Footage shows the smart cockatoo holding the cup on his left foot while diving his beak inside to eat.

Amused resident Wannaweaw said: ‘I used to be afraid of birds, but everything changed when I had to stay home every day during the pandemic.

‘The wild birds would visit me every day, so I purposely leave cornflakes for them to snack on. If I hear unusual sounds, I know it would be them.'

The bird, seemingly unbothered by the house owner, continued to take more bites of the cereals even when the resident went close.

Wannaweaw added: ‘It might not be his first time being here. He knew he could eat the snack peacefully.'
