Coal mine explosion kills 10 in Indonesia
A coal mine explosion killed ten people today (December 9) in Sawahlunto, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The blast was caused by a buildup of gases.
This aerial footage captured the images of the incident. The video also shows emergency services at the scene of the privately owned mine and the bodies of the victims being removed from the site.
According to Octavianto, a man working for the Basarnas Padang Search and Rescue Office, only four people were found alive.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, First Inspector Ferliyanto Pratama, said the mine explosion occurred Friday morning at around 8.30 Western Indonesia Time.
