The explosion and collapse occurred as a result of a fire in the shopping center "Mega Khimki"
The explosion and collapse occurred in the Obi hypermarket in the Mega Khimki shopping center in the Moscow region.
The fire was reported to rescuers on the morning of Friday, December 9. At 07:05, the fire was assigned the fourth number of difficulty out of five.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire area was 7,000 square meters.
Video with explosions in the shopping center - in emergency services they explain with cans of paint and aerosols. The Ministry of Emergency Situations told about one deceased - a security guard of a hypermarket.
The cause of the fire is said to be welding work in the annex of the OBI hypermarket, which was carried out in violation of safety rules.
