These days local and foreign tourists come to Minneriya National Park in anticipation of seeing wild elephants. Due to the rainy season, the number of wild elephants in the park is very less these days. As a result, safari jeeps have to travel longer distances to show the wild elephants to the tourists. At such a time, it was a rainy day and several unfit jeeps that came to go on safari could not move in the mud because of the lack of facilities for off road travel. Later, the group worked to rescue this jeep using other jeeps.
