Scuffles in Bangkok on the first day of the 2014 coup after military arrest a protester
On 25 May 2014, on the first day after the Thailand coup took place, some "red shirts", partisans of the overthrown Yingluck government attempted to carry out protests. They were quickly overcome by heavy military deployments which arrested any troublemaker. In the video above, soldiers circle with shields around one prisoner, a protester they arrested when he attempted to raise a placard against the coup.
The consequences of the 2014 coup continue nowadays, with the Junta in power keeping a solid lid on the elections and the local Thai parliament.
