Beautiful drone video of frost covered trees in Omagh, Northern Ireland (best version)
Drone footage of the beautiful frost formations covering the trees in the hills of Omagh in County Tyrone in Northern Ireland on Monday morning (December 12) after freezing fog and temperatures of -7 degrees Celsius.
"I was tipped off to this special frost by a mate on his way to work who said it was the best he had seen since the severe winter of 2010," explains filmer Martin McKenna, an experienced sky watcher, videographer and drone pilot local to the area.
"When I saw it myself, I had to agree! it was amazing. The frost is so thick it looks like snow coating the trees. When you get close it's composed of numerous icy needles or spindles - one of the finest sights in winter weather.
"The drone is a Mavic 2 Pro and is designed to withstand temperatures as low -10 degrees Celsius."
