World Braille Day: Blind kid converts his Panini World Cup sticker album
A visually impaired, soccer-mad boy from Venezuela converted his Qatar World Cup 2022 Panini sticker album to Braille so he can participate in the popular craze.
A huge fan of Argentina's Lionel Messi, Sebastian, 12, explains in the video that his dad helped him to apply silicon, to which the sticker sticks. He then transcribed both the number and country name with his Braille typewriter. Afterwards, his teacher helped him marking all the cards.
The 2022 Qatar World Cup album is made up of 80 pages and features each of the 32 teams in the tournament.
In an inspiring message about visual impairment, Sebastian said: "I feel super happy. Remember that those who feel it and listen to it are not just those who can see it. We have the right to collect stickers of our football idols too!"
Sebastian can now stick his Panini stickers into his album, including Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who he describes as "one of the biggest football legends."
No doubt Sebastian will be willing Argentina's number 10 on in their World Cup semi-final clash against Croatia on Tuesday evening.
Kindhearted Sebastian ends the video with this heartwarming message: "Remember: We are heading towards real inclusion."
The video was captured in Barquisimeto, Venezuela in the runup to the World Cup.
