Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo may have gone home but these two superstars are staying in Qatar for a good while yet. Their names are Si Hai and Jing Jing, they play in black and white and some have noted that they move rather slowly around the pitch.

Since their first public appearance in November when Doha's first ever Panda House officially opened, the two giant pandas have been winning the hearts of locals.

Video filmed at the Panda House, which is air conditioned, in the city of Al Khor on November 19 shows a journalist named Xing Chong visiting Si Hai and Jing Jing on its opening day.

According to curator Cissy Gao, the 4-year-old male giant panda Jing Jing likes eating and has gained about 3 to 5 kilograms since he arrived in Qatar. Si Hai is a lively 3-year-old female giant, she says.

The two pandas gifted by China from Sichuan’s Wolong National Nature Reserve will stay in Qatar for 15 years.
