A machete-wielding burglar and their accomplice attempted to break into a home in Eastwood, Essex, on December 10.

A security camera installed by Ahmet in his daughter's home captured the incident at 3:48 am.

The footage starts with one of the males attempting to open the front door while assessing the home's windows.

As one pries open the window, the other stands waiting at the door armed with a large knife.

The pair eventually called off their burglary after peering inside the home.

Ahmet said: "The house is currently empty as it is being refurbished, when the suspect looks through the window, I assume they can see it's being refurbished hence walking away.

"My daughter has filed an online report."
