Three people were injured after their pet pitbull attacked them inside their home in Thailand.

The family were enjoying a barbecue when the seven-month-old dog named Pipo suddenly lunged at Sarinthip Kenwongsa, 25, Cholathep Kenwongsa, 27 and, Jamras Kenwongsa, 70, in Samut Prakan on December 9.

Homeowner Nikom Kenwongsa, 73, said Sarinthip began arguing with her brother Cholathep when the pooch, apparently agitated by the sounds, charged at her and sank its teeth into her leg.

Jamras tried to rein Pipo in, but fell to the floor and was also savaged by the beast, which then turned its attention on Cholathep afterward.

The frantic pet owners sustained multiple injuries before finally fighting the dog off and locking it inside the house.

Emergency services arrived and found the trio bleeding in the garage.

Sarinthip had two bite wounds on her left arm and right leg and received 21 stitches at the hospital, while Cholathep was bitten on his left arm.

Pensioner Jamras had a large cut on her left arm where her flesh was torn, exposing the bone underneath. She also had several wounds on her face.

All three are currently recovering at the Samut Prakan hospital where they have been given rabies shots.

Nikom said: ‘We had to drag the dog back and lock it inside the house after the incident. I couldn't believe that a dog that we grew up with and played with every day was capable of being so violent.

'My wife Jamras had the worst injuries since she had a bad leg. She fell and the dog bit her everywhere. She is now slowly recovering at the hospital.

'I'm still in shock at what happened. Pipo had already bitten my son before this incident, but we chose to keep him because we love him.

'But to prevent the animal from hurting anybody else, we will put Pipo up for adoption on a Pitbull Lover Facebook group for those who are qualified to raise such a violent dog.'

On October 23, a man was mauled to death by his family's pit bulls in Thailand's Nakhon Ratchasima province.

A woman had also been severely wounded by her own pet pit bull in the same province last September while she had been feeding a stray dog.
